Dear Fellow New Yorkers,

As we turn the page on a remarkable year, the American Arbitration Association® (AAA®) takes immense pride in marking a momentous milestone: 50 years of serving the great state of New York in resolving no-fault disputes. Our journey began in 1974 with the establishment of no-fault auto insurance in New York State and the appointment of AAA to administer the arbitration program. At that time, navigating insurance disputes could be arduous and confusing. We envisioned a different path, one paved with efficiency, impartiality and accessibility.

Since opening our doors, we've held fast to our core principles. We believe in empowering New Yorkers to find fair and timely solutions to their disputes, unburdened by the traditional court system's limitations. Our unwavering commitment to no-fault arbitration has stood the test of time, offering a faster, less adversarial alternative for countless individuals, medical providers and companies across the state.

Looking back, it fills us with immense satisfaction to have:

  • Handled over four million cases: We've helped New Yorkers navigate diverse challenges, protecting their rights and ensuring equitable outcomes.
  • Assembled a dedicated team of neutrals: This expert roster of arbitrators embodies the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, bringing impartiality and experience to every case they adjudicate.
  • Pioneered innovative approaches: We've constantly evolved, embracing technology and streamlining processes to provide swifter and more accessible dispute resolution services.

As we step into the next fifty years, we remain committed to:

  • Upholding the highest standards of neutrality and fairness: Every case will be treated with the utmost respect and diligence, ensuring all parties have a voice and a fair chance at resolution.
  • Embracing innovation: We will continuously explore new technologies and approaches to refine our services and make them more accessible and efficient.
  • Providing exceptional service: We are dedicated to exceeding expectations, offering courteous guidance and support throughout the arbitration process.

To the people of New York, we express our deepest appreciation for your trust and confidence in these past five decades. You have placed your faith in our system, and it is a responsibility we carry with humility and unwavering dedication. As we celebrate this golden anniversary, we look forward to serving you for generations to come, ensuring that every New Yorker has access to fair, efficient and accessible dispute resolution.

With sincere gratitude,

The American Arbitration Association
