Yanett Quiroz appointed as Vice President, ICDR®: Serving Canada, Mexico and the Western United States.

Yanett is responsible for coordinating, developing and promoting the dispute resolution services the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) offers in Canada, Mexico and the West Coast of the United States.

Yanett has been a director at the ICDR since 2015. In that role, she provided case management services to parties and clients worldwide, focusing on the South Central United States, cross-border actions in Mexico and the energy sector.

Before joining the AAA-ICDR, Yanett served as the secretary general for the Mediation and Arbitration Commission of the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) for eight years, during which she administered proceedings under various organizations’ rules. During her career in Mexico, she worked at law firms, where she litigated commercial and civil cases before Mexican Courts, assisted arbitrators in arbitrations, drafted commercial and civil contracts, and designed legal strategies for clients. Additionally, Yanett taught alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for three years at Universidad La Salle and was an invited professor at Universidad Panamericana, Universidad Anahuac del Norte and the Insituto Autonomo de Mexico in Mexico City. She has written several articles and book contributions related to ADR.

Yanett is a licensed attorney in Mexico who obtained a law degree and an international master's degree from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

Originally interested in becoming a writer and journalist, Yanett decided to go to law school only after she learned that Mario Vargas Llosa, one of Latin America’s most significant novelists and essayists (and winner of a Nobel Prize in Literature), was a lawyer.

Yanett will continue to be based out of our Houston office.
