Virtual Workshop 2021
Remote Hearings: The New Normal?

January 28, 2021
11:00AM-12:30PM SGT

As hybrid and remote hearings have become commonplace, there are various issues that can arise. The AAA-ICDR Asia CMC and Schellenberg Wittmer (Singapore) will discuss these issues and more during their Virtual Workshop 2021, a unique and interactive opportunity for participants to actively discuss a real case scenario on relevant and concurrent issues in relation to remote hearings, as well as practical solutions.

Key issues to be discussed from the case scenario include equal treatment of parties in conduct of arbitral proceedings, right to a fair trial, travel restrictions, technical difficulties with simultaneous translation, and how a tribunal will decide between remote hearings vs. postponements. Participants will also learn relevant tips for ensuring privacy and cybersecurity. The case study along with the issues discussed in the workshop will have a particular focus on Asian parties and offer practical and tailored solutions.

This workshop is a must attend for lawyers, in-house counsel, companies and practitioners involved in disputes in the region.
