Join the AAA-ICDR Asia Case Management Centre (CMC) in celebrating the one year anniversary of its expansion of the Singapore office and subsequent growth throughout Asia. This year has been unlike any other with the uncertainties in and around Asia, but the Asia CMC sustained a successful year filled with growth, opportunities with collaborations, and partnerships with the support of all our stakeholders.

The AAA-ICDR CMC will host a Virtual Summit from September 8-10, 2020 to celebrate the one year anniversary of expansion. Each event will bring together practitioners, institutions, lawyers and in house counsel to discuss issues and share their different perspectives and experiences.

These virtual sessions will share, discuss and explore many topics around dispute management, provide useful and actionable tips and takeaways, offer different perspectives and discuss what can be expected from dispute management in the future. Registrants can sign up for individual or all events.

Cybersecurity in Dispute Resolution: A Shared Responsibility

Cybersecurity in Asia and around the world has been a major focus this year. During this unique webinar participants will hear from AAA-ICDR technology experts, presenting for the first time for the Asia CMC. The presenters will provide actionable items and expert perspective on cybersecurity, featuring our case management system.

The security and privacy of customer and case information is a critical component in arbitration. It is a shared responsibility between the AAA-ICDR and arbitrators to ensure all panelists are informed and equipped to uphold the integrity and legitimacy of the arbitral process. AAA-ICDR Chief Information and Innovation Officer Diana Didia and AAA-ICDR Information Security Manager Drew LaGravenese will discuss cybersecurity best practices including:

  • Secure Access, Passwords and Multi-Factor Authentication

Virtual Mock Cross Examination

September 9, 2020

The AAA-ICDR Asia CMC and PwC Singapore will be co-hosting these Virtual Mock Cross Examination Training Sessions. Teams have been selected from submissions, which were received from 22 countries, to participate in mock virtual cross examinations. They will have the opportunity to use case management tools offered under the ICDR® International Dispute Resolution Rules and Procedures. These training sessions will give participants a unique opportunity to practice the cross examination of quantum experts and receive feedback from tribunals of experienced practitioners.

Clash of the Titans: AAA-ICDR Asia CMC’s Young Practitioners Debate

2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (SGT)

This exciting event for young practitioners promises to be explosive, fun and interactive, while also being informative and useful. Join in on the big debate as expert dispute resolution practitioners take the stage to battle out key and concurrent issues, rebut each other as well as take questions from the audience and the panel of judges. The panel of experts are from different parts of Asia and will bring their unique perspective along with a lot of fun!

Teams will be comprised of two speakers each and will be allotted 30 minutes per topic, including rebuttal and audience questions. A panel of judges will moderate the questions. Teams will have to answer the questions both during and after the debate. Topics to debate are as follows:
